Last night we were at my son's basketball game and we were talking about Michael Jackson's death and that Farrah Fawcett had passed away also. My son's coach remarked that he had heard that some lady had died.
Some lady had died? Could he not know who Farrah Fawcett was and what she did for pubescent boys in the 70's? Dear God, am I that old?
Now granted, Coach is only in his mid-twenty's, but c'mon... I guess he grew up in the age of Jennifer Anniston and Anna Kournikova. Be that as it may, if the internet had been going on in the 70's, Farrah's website would have been Numero Uno on the Google Search Engine. Her picture in that one piece swimsuit would have been the most downloaded image of all time. But since Al Gore didn't invent the internet until some time later, we'll never know for sure. As it was, that poster is still the most purchased poster of all time.
Sad to say, I never bought that famous poster when I was a teenager; but my friend Ronnie Whitacre did and I admired it every time I went to his house, and I went to his house a lot.
Even though I never bought the poster, I thought I would post it on the site for all those males who heard about some lady dying. On behalf of all the boys I grew up with let me say, "Thanks for the memories, Farrah".
