Praying For Your Enemies

I have never really been "into" country music. Well...there was that one summer back in the 90's when I had the hots for Shania Twain and Faith Hill.....

Anyway, most times I'd rather poke my eye out with a rusty nail than listen to country music. I mean, how could any artist ever top "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash?

Anyway (again), there is this song out called "I Pray For You" by some group called Jaron and The Long Road To Love, which got me to thinking as I listened to the song in my local honky-tonk of a Taliban 7-Eleven.

Some of the lyrics are:

I pray your birthday comes and nobody calls

I pray you're flyin' high when your engine stalls

I pray all your dreams never come true

Just know wherever you are, honey, I pray for you...

Now, those are great lyrics. We've all been there. It got me thinking how many times I've wanted to call down Fire from Heaven and consume someone. Now I see the error of my ways...All I need to do is pray for them. (Pastor Tim and Pastor Jeff would be proud).

So let's see...tonight I'm going to pray for Lou, Ed and Ken. Here goes:

Dear God,

I pray that Lou gets fat so his suits don't fit

I pray that Ed gets butt cancer lickity-split

I pray that Ken craps his pants, oh yes I do

Just know wherever you are...I pray for you...

I always feel so much better after I pray.

Be Well.
