I was wondering what would make Al and Tipper Gore end their marriage after 40 years...Some "expert" said that once couples hit 60 years of age they begin to wonder how they will spend their remaining years and in the case of the Al and Tipper they simply decided to spend their remaining years apart.

I guess that maybe Al wanted to spend more time with his fellow astronauts and, it would seem, that maybe the two of them were not melting the polar ice caps from their bedroom anymore. How sad...I guess couples can grow apart from one another. That's not only sad but scary.
My parents had a solution for how they would spend their twilight years...Stay Together (and get a dog).
This year my wife and I will celebrate our 30th year of marriage. And, just like the Gores, we were high school sweethearts. But, unlike the Gores, we've done everything together since we were 13 years old. We've been Best Friends forever. That's the secret.
Too bad Uncle Al didn't call me for some advice before they visited Splitsville.
