This morning as I left for the gym the sun wasn't quite up yet but its rays were beginning to light up the horizon. The birds were singing and the family of rabbits that like to eat my shrubs were busily scampering across my yard. As I took in the serenity of the moment I was reminded of a scripture that I had learned many years ago, "For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues for all generations." Psalm 100:5
For a brief moment, I just stood there and took in the beauty of the moment. It was God's way of reminding me that He hasn't moved...He is still there and that even though I've been the one who has moved away, He is still there for me everyday. He is faithful.
I truly believe that if God has cable, we are the 24 hour Doofus Channel and I am the star on one of the shows. I wish I could be as rock solid in my faith as so many others seem to be. I'm sorry...I've tried. Without making excuses or having a Pity Party, let's just say that organized religion gives me the creeps. I've been to that side of the table and it frightens me. And yet, God just won't give up on me.
I think that maybe, just maybe there are some friends of mine who keep praying for me. They understand about being faithful and for that, I am thankful.
