It has been said that the longest journey begins with the first step. My journey began just over a year ago when I started my quest to take back my life from the depths of darkness. Along the way I've faced my monsters and made a lot of friends along the way.
Planet Kirby began as a blog site back in June of 2009. I had begun to withdraw from life and needed to have an outlet to express myself. So I began to write down my thoughts about life, the world and what I was feeling. It was very therapeutic and continues to be.
This post marks my 100th entry on Planet Kirby. So far, Planet Kirby has had over 3,300 visitors. Besides the United States, the website has had visitors from Chile, Japan, Spain, Canada, and Australia. I have been encouraged by all of the people who have taken the time to email me and from the postings and messages from my friends on my favorite social network site.
The site was never meant to be anything other than a therapeutic patch to help jump start me back to life. Those of you who have followed my journey from the beginning have seen my struggles and have watched as I tried to reason with the monsters that plagued my life for so many years. I have been amazed at the number of visitors to Planet Kirby who have commented that they struggle with many of same monsters that I have battled over the years. I have found that there is strength and comfort in numbers.
So, as I break the century mark, I look forward to continuing the journey with all my friends both old and new. Thanks for all your love and encouragement.
