Today marks the second anniversary of Planet Kirby. What started out as a therapeutic channel for my life has now grown into a site followed by people from over 40 countries around the world. I'm not sure why but the site itself has taken on a sort of cult status and people seem to like the idea of being able to see inside my head. Who would have thought that someone who was "born a poor black child" could have come up with a site like this? Well, welcome to my world....Happy 2nd Anniversary. Let's get back to those thoughts in my head. Enjoy.Recently, I've been talking a lot about wanting to have special Jesus powers. I can only imagine what it would have been like to have been friends with Jesus growing up some 2,000 years ago. All the kids would have wanted Jesus on their team. Think about it...when playing baseball, every time Jesus got up to bat He would hit a home run. After a while, I bet they wouldn't even pitch to Him. They would try to intentionally walk Him and He'd still hit a home run somehow. If they ever lost a baseball, He could turn a rock into a baseball or something and they could keep playing.
Truth be told, His brothers and sisters probably didn't like Him. I mean...He was the perfect child. Mary and Joseph were probably constantly telling his siblings, "Why can't you be more like Jesus?" He was most likely Mary and Joseph's favorite child. Kids in school probably didn't care for Him either. There would be no grading on a curve with Jesus in the class. Since He knew everything from the beginning of the world, he always got 100% on His tests.
Here's the thing about Jesus...He couldn't help it. That whole, "Fully God, Yet, Fully Man" thing still blows my mind. He could have tried to put a wrong answer on a test but it would miraculously change to the right answer. He could have tried to swing and miss a pitched baseball but the baseball would somehow still hit the bat and fly over the fence.
I believe Jesus had those special Jesus powers since birth. The human aspect of His existence must have made it fun to have all those cool powers. I bet He had a lot of fun with them. And that's all I'm talking about when I say I wish I had special Jesus powers. I'd love to have fun with them. Sure, I'd probably use them for my own edification and that's why God didn't give me any...nor will He ever. Like yesterday, I wanted to turn a bunch of old women into water and then go swimming in them.
Come to think of it, I think I did have special Jesus powers once. Back in 1979, I asked the most beautiful girl in the world if she would marry me someday and she said, "Yes!" Now that was a miracle! Thank you God!
Be Well and thanks for a fun two years.
