Supposedly, Shakespeare got his inspiration for writing by reading the works of other great writers. As for me, I simply write about things I feel, see or think about during each day of my life. Today was no different. As I was driving, I saw a blind woman walking through a parking lot being led by her seeing-eye dog. As I watched the happy couple stroll along, I couldn't believe what thought entered my mind... I thought, how would that woman know if the dog dropped some doggie doo? I mean, being blind, she would step right in it.
It was then that I was struck by a thought of genius. Wouldn't it be cool if there were seeing-eye midgets? Before you judge, just think about it. The little person could actually talk to the blind person. "Watch out, Sally, there's dog doo...take a step to the right..." When he wasn't performing his seeing-eye duties, a midget could answer phones, retrieve food or beverages from the mini-fridge, and when he wasn't playing handball against the curb, he could help Mr. Magoo with his household chores. And besides, a midget doesn't shed or require any clean up. And, with the unemployment rate nearing ten percent, the hiring of seeing-eye midgets would help the economy.
What can I say? Inspiration just seems to find me. It's a gift that God has bestowed upon me. Don't hate me because God has found me worthy. If you believe that; I have some property in the Everglades I'd love to sell you.
Be Well.
