I saw recently that a "To Do List" which belonged to John Lennon is getting ready to be auctioned off to the highest bidder. The article said that there is a minimum bid of $3,000 to start and that they expect the scribbled To Do List to sell for about $5,000.
So I checked out the list of 11 items that ranged from getting a friend to return a book that was borrowed from Lennon to making sure that both cars had full gas tanks. Pretty standard, pretty boring stuff. It could have been a list that any of us could have written. But, since it belonged to John Lennon, it will fetch $5,000. Keep in mind that one of his decaying teeth once sold for $32,000.
After reading his list, I thought how much different the list would have been if I would have been John Lennon....
1. Get rid of Yoko (make it look like an accident)
2. Photoshop Ringo out of all of the Beatles pictures.
3. Tell the Doorman to keep a lookout for that weirdo Chapman kid (he gives me the creeps)
4. Make a coffee table book about the worst drummers of all time (Pete Best, Ringo, etc.)
5. Contact Huggy Bear need some more "giggle twig"
I don't know why but this thought just popped into my head..."What would Jerry Sandusky's To Do List have looked like? That's a blog for another day. Heck, I could probably do a whole series on To Do List's of famous people throughout history. So, in case you're thinking about stealing my idea, I want you to know that all thoughts and everything I write about are trademarked and property of Planet Kirby and you can't use it without my express written consent. Boy, did I just go off on a tangent or what?
Anyway, I looked at my To Do List for today, and I'll be honest...it was pretty boring. Just like John's To Do List. It was filled with all the 'things' that I had to do, and yet, it was void of any real meaning. So I added Item #9...All it said was "Call Donna at lunch time and tell her that I love her." And I did. And then I checked it off my list. And I think she liked it. Priceless.
