My Father's Day Gift

As Father’s day has rolled around once again this year, I thought I would do something special for one of the most important people in my life, and that is to take interest in one of my Father’s hobbies. Some of you may know me from a few of my father’s other articles he has written, follow his Facebook posts, or may be a die-hard Planet Kirby fan, but for those who may not know, I am the son of the Infamous Bill Kirby. Let me introduce myself, my name is Aaron Kirby, 21 years old, college student, and one of the luckiest people in the world. Why am I so lucky? I have had the privilege of being raised by a truly special person who has done everything in his power to give myself and my siblings the best possible life that we could imagine. Bill Kirby is a man who started out as a smart kid who was lucky enough to find the love of his life in 8th grade and never looked back. He tells me at times, “you see Aaron, what you’re supposed to do is find the love of your life in 8th grade and build something amazing together.” Sadly, I didn’t get as lucky as he did, but I sure as hell have a lot to be thankful for thanks to this guy and my Mother who is still very much in love with him. I consider myself to be extremely fortunate to have such a great home-life. I firmly believe it takes a true man to put family before themselves. My father has always instilled the value of family and respect in ways that now seem to be effortless to me. For example, told me a story years ago about himself growing up when he made a mistake and then told me, “You always have to try to be the best version of yourself Aaron, first impressions are important and you never know who may be watching.” This quote I have tried my hardest to carry with me no matter where I am. Who knew something like that would have such an impact after 10 years? My Dad is a goofy, fun, out of this world kind of person, yet he can also be the most caring, loving, and interesting person you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. After working with my father quite recently I realized that my father has the superhuman ability to change the mood of a room for the better with his presence and that signature Bill Kirby smile he always has (I think that’s pretty cool). He never fails to continue to surprise me. In fact, I don’t think he fails to continue to surprise anyone that gets to know him a little more. As I begin to realize that I am becoming more like him by the day it seems, I would just like to say I am more than okay with that and will enjoy my hair while I still have it *Bazinga*. There is an infinite amount of great things I could say about my Father on this day of celebration, but I’ll just end this post by saying I love you Dad.

Thanks ya filthy animal.
Happy Father's Day!

Aaron
