This morning I woke up with a Scripture verse on my mind. It happens sometimes. Most mornings I might wake up with some obscure song lyrics bouncing around my kirbrebral cortex but not this morning. The verse was a familiar one to me from Acts 10:38, "And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him."
As you know, I believe strongly that nothing happens by chance. The same goes for a Scripture verse popping into my Kirby consciousness first thing in the morning. I have always believed that if we open our hearts to God and we listen for His voice He will speak to us. I believe that is what happened this morning. I believe that God was speaking to me through this verse.
This isn't the first time that this has happened to me and I know that it won't be the last. And yes, I do believe that having a Scripture verse pop into my Bill Brain before I even wake up is one of God's ways of speaking to me. Just as the verse says, "...for God was with Him", I believe that God wants and desires to be with us. We just need to open hearts and shut our mouths sometimes...
