Worst Day Ever

We all have bad days.  I get it.  The great thing about having a bad is that at the end of each day there is another new day waiting for us to experience.  The clock gets reset.  The scores get erased.  Each day we can live with the hope that today's bad day is, at best, temporary.  But how about when you have the WORST DAY EVER?

I am not sure what constitutes the WORST DAY EVER but it must be really, really bad.  I noticed that someone had posted that comment on my 2nd favorite social network site the other day and I was intrigued to learn as to why their day was the WORST DAY EVER.  I mean, it was even in all caps so it must have been horrific.  But there was no explanation.  I hate it when people do that.  They make a comment like that so people will respond with "What happened?"; "Sending Prayers"; or whatever socially appropriate comment they think will show the person that they care.  All the while, the person never explains why they are in such a terrible state of affairs.  Did I say that I hate it when people do that?

Never learning the true genesis of their worsening life situation, I thought that I would let my mind wander as to why it could have been the WORST DAY EVER!  Let's see...  You were diagnosed with cancer.  Your dog got run over by a car.  You zipped your weenie in your zipper.  You were in a terrible accident and now you are a quadriplegic.  You were whipped until your skin was laid wide open and then you were forced to carry a cross and then you were crucified. All of which may qualify you for being able to post: WORST DAY EVER!

But let's face it, most of our problems that cause us to think we are having a bad day are first world problems.  They aren't really problems at all.  Let's see if any of these ring a bell with you...  I took such a long shower that I ran out of hot water.  The restaurant didn't have Coke so I had to drink a Pepsi.  I ate too much and  now I am so tired that I need a nap.  The internet on my phone is so slow.  The Domino's Pizza Tracker app isn't working so now I won't know when to put my pants on....

In retrospect, I think that it's almost a sin to say that we are having a bad day let alone the WORST DAY EVER!  We complain so much about little insignificant bullshit that we should be ashamed of ourselves.  All of that complaining we do gets in the way of us thanking God for just how blessed we are; especially in America.  I think sometimes that we are so bored with our lives that we make shit stuff up just so people will pay attention to us.  Why is that I wonder?

A few weeks ago I wrote about removing negative people from our lives.  Maybe it's time that we remove the negativity from our own lives.  A little less complaining and a little more praising.  Anybody with me?

Be Well.  (And guys, watch out for that zipper).
